Saint☆Onii-san
Have you ever wondered what would happen if Jesus and Buddha were roommates? no? neither have I, but apparently Hikaru Nakamura (who you might know as the author of Arakawa Under the Bridge) did.
If you're familiar with Arakawa, then you know that Nakamura-sensei makes some bizarre stuff, and this isn't the exception. The episode is divided into a series of short segments like a lot of slice-of-life shows are. In these bite sized chapters we see the formidable landlady, trying to uncover her new tenants' secret identities as they get mistaken for ninjas, street performers and .....alien ping-pong players from the planet button?, what the deities do on their off time (Jesus is a dedicated j-drama blogger), how they ended up in Japan and other shenanigans.
I love this like I loved Arakawa. What really makes the show so great to me is the balance between the weird, the funny and the endearing. All of the characters are damned lovable (even the strict landlady) . To me the best scene is when at the mention of them not having enough money to feed themselves, a cat readily jumps into a plate and another one gives them matches.
Is this a one episode thing? I don't know. I'll be waiting to see, but if not there is always the manga :)

Fairy tail 174 - Cat Tears Galore
It's episodes like this that make waiting week after week worthwhile.
we're in the middle of the dragon slayer fight and upon a closer look at sting's character design, I kinda take back what I said about it being the coolest, his tiny furry vest kinda sucks. The actual fight went a little like this: Fairy Tail kicks butt, Saber Tooth cats cry, Saber Tooth powers up. ST seems to kick butt, FT cats cry, FT comes out of it literally unharmed,ST cats cry. FT kicks butt,ST cats keep crying, SB powers up, FT cats cry. On and on and on for twenty something minutes, a freaking tension roller coaster (with a close up of a cat crying or cheering every 30 seconds) . We also get all kinds of fun stuff like characterization and we see via flashback that Sting's motivation for wanting to fight Natsu is not totally unfounded and kinda cute actually (and that his clothes used to fit at one point), so we don't hate him as much. As for Rougue....meh, only time will tell(though I did read in a spoiler that he's apparently the more bad-ass of the duo). In the End Natsu and Gajeel show who's boss, have a comedic spat, and Gajeel gets sent off in a little cart (which I predict will take him to the secret place where the sneaky foreshadowed Lucy kidnappers have their secret weapon or something). Natsu, staying true to his character says he'll take both ST dragon slayers and asks "aren't you fired up?" (according to the subs)
And that I am Natsu, That I am.
On kind of an off note, I freaking love what gets said by Happy and Natsu during the previews. It's better than the preview itself.

Well shit.....(and a quick Fairy Tail Rambling)
I had no Idea I had a blog. Which is cool cause I was thinking of starting one up anyways. The subject: anime, manga etc. I've actually tried to start blogs before but I usually lose the motivation before I can even actually start. Well anywhoo, I don't exactly know how this is gonna work or how often I'm gonna update or what I'm gonna update about but the initial idea is to write some quick reviews or impressions on anime series, movies, manga or pretty much anything that strikes my fancy I guess. I'm not even gonna try and act like I'm this great fancy critic who knows what they're doing and I'm not gonna use any rating system, it's just the humble opinions and ramblings of an anime lover..So let's get crackin' shall we.....
(because I'm lazy, I won't summarize any of the series, so go look for them in wikipedia or something)
**Spoilers ahead perhaps, I'll try not to but I won't promise anything**
Fairy Tail magic games arc(as far as the anime goes)
Generally I'm stoked for this show. I love the whole idea of them having to redeem themselves as Fiore's strongest cause I get to see how fucking amazing they are all over again. I feel like every fight is totally worth watching, with a few exceptions of course (*cough Mirajane's bathing suit fight*cough) As always, the FT gang delivers, all the fights have all been great to watch, and I was pleasantly surprised with Wendy and Elfman's fights and one of the highlights for me was watching Erza kick ass in the monster castle thingy and thinking how cool she is. Some are funny, some are badass and some are plain stupid.
I cannot wait for the dragon slayer tag team match which started this past week, more than anything I want to see Natsu kick Sting's ass(who I think is a huge douche with the coolest character design btw) and Gajeel that emo looking one. I kind of want FT to thoroughly destroy Sabertooth,From Sting's cocky grin to Minerva's stupid little buns and braids, I really dislike all of them with the exception of those cute ass cats. ST is the anti-FT, everything we've been taught about how a guild should be is violated in ST so we can't help but hate them. Somebody's should just stab Sabertooth!
And while everyone in FT is kicking ass and taking names, what is our heroine doing? failing, failing miserably. You know you need you need to get your shit together when even Cana (yes, Cana) does better than you while piss drunk. I like Lucy plenty but right now I just kinda roll my eyes every time she's on screen. There's lot's of foreshadowing telling us the games are something more than they appear and that Lucy is going to be very involved so I hope she can step up and make me love her again.
ok that's it for today. I hope it wasn't too bad for a first time. I was hoping to do weekly reviews of the shows as I watched them but it's kind of though seeing how it's the middle of a season. I'll keep at it for a bit and see how it goes. Thanks for reading :)
